Karen's Doodles Challenge 103

Here is a card I created for Karen's Doodles Challenge 103:  Something for the kids.  This awesome board breaking Karate kid is a Karen's Doodles image.  Wait- it plays a little tune.  Scroll down to the video.  :)

I've been saving the cards that we get that have music in them with the intent of using them in my cards. I finally did it!  My ds got a Kungfu Panda musical card for his last birthday, so I took it out of that card and put it in mine.  See below:

Inside says (since the video is bad, but you get the idea....):  Happy Birthday to a boy with a great black belt attitude.

CAS-ual Friday challenge #50

CAS-ual Friday challenge 50 is Spring:  flowers or trees.  Here is the card I created for it using a stamp by Autumn Leaves and some flower soft as spring blossoms.

yay to Friday and a clean desk ;)

I actually cleaned off my desk and the floor around it (here's where I insert the gasps by my shocked readers). lol!  I finally took a photo of this wonderfully decorated enormous clothespin (she even made the rolled fabric flower herself) from a sweet scrapbooking friend- Betsie. I just love it!  I made room for it on my scrappy desk and it is displaying this awesome card created by another sweet friend- Heather, you know... from FBD.   They were given to me around the same time and I love that they match!  Perfect!

Thank you, ladies!  I actually have lots of stamping gifts displayed around my work area. Makes me happy to see them, you know, when they aren't buried by all my stuff.  HAHA!

Now I have a nice clean desk to do some card making/scrapbooking this weekend.   :)

new FBD challenge

oooooh, look at that!  now using this photo as a little inspiration, create a card and link it up at the Fresh Brewed Designs Challenge Blog.

Here's the card I created for this challenge.  The warm cozy coffee cup is a fresh brewed designs digi image that you can find/purchase HERE.  The saying sticker is from my stash, and I made the little flower with the cuttlebug daisy die.  Click on over and see what the other DT members created.  :)

two challenge cards

First, Burlap and Buttercups just announced they are closing their doors (beginning May).  so sad. :(  I created this card for their current challenge #3 negative space lettering.  I cut the Thanks with my cricut and have it to use on another card.  However, I created this card first for the challenge.  I also used supplies from my April B&B kit.

My next card is for Cupcake Inspirations challenge 157.  Those are the cutest cupcakes!

As you know, if you follow my blog, I have the Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety paper pack that I've been using up.  It's, of course, perfect to use for the above inspiration photo.  This was a really quick card.  I added a bee, which I forget what stamp company makes it (inkadinkadoo. maybe?  it's clear and no longer with the packaging)...

Two challenge cards

Happy Saturday!  Lazy morning.... just like I like them.  :)  But the rest of the day will be filled with two birthday celebrations.

I have two challenge cards to post this a.m.  They were both quick and easy.

The first one is for the A Muse Studio Challenge Blog:  thank you cards.  I used my A|S tini time stamp set.  :)

This card is for the JUGS challenge blog:  #133 color challenge.  Orange. Lime Green.  Hot pink.

I used some hot pink liquid applique to frost the P. ;)   These stamps are also A|S.

Have a great day!  :)

Do you pintrest?

I do have a pintrest account, but I don't do a whole lot with it.  However, I do find it pretty handy to quickly save something that has inspired you (me!).  It's much handier than the regular "bookmark". I know a lot of friends who are addicted to it, sooo...  The below is a pintrest inspired image by Fresh Brewed Designs, and I was inspired to create it while I created the card below it for the Moxie Fab Trigger Challenge.  Why?  Because I loved the butterflies from the trigger photo, but recently saw a post from a friend on facebook of a pin of butterfly clothespin snacks which inspired the butterfly on my card.

Here's my "pintrest" card:

Here's the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger photo:

The butterfly stamp is SU!  I created the flower with my cuttlebug (daisy flower kit)...
I'm participating in the Burlap & Buttercups April challenge this month.  It's a sketch challenge with a twist.  You can see the sketch by clicking on the link above.  The twist is to use mist or paint on your LO.  First of all, everything here is from my April B&B kit.  The papers and embellishments here couldn't have been more perfect for my ds' 1st grade performance "We love the USA".   Tucked behind the photo is the school performance paper and journaling card.  For the twist requirement, I sprayed yellow mist (kit add on) onto the gingham paper with a star cut out, so if you enlarge this, you can see the star.... although the paint is a nice cheery yellow, on this paper it kind of has an aged look to it, I think- I like it.  :)
Happy Friday!  :)

Disney CARS birthday card

We're going to a birthday party this weekend for a cute little boy who is turning 2.  His party theme is Disney CARS, so I found a free coloring page and sized it down to fit on my card front.  The last thing I wanted to do was color it in, so I decided to add some birthday party items (stamps by A Muse Studio) to it in color.  :)  It was a quick and easy card, and I think it turned out cute... not that kids care about cards, I hope he enjoys his CARS card.  :)

Funny Humor Challenge at FBD!

Many years ago, I used to be in a scrapbook club called Scrapgoods that was a monthly kit club.  I miss it! With each kit came a template that either was the technique or went along with technique, so I have a binder of all the templates along with the newsletters.  I decided to pull it down and see what there was to inspire me..   I came across a template to make a wheel card, so here it is....

First image up is FBD rubber stamp:  La Dolce Vida.  I stamped her on paper, colored, and cut out for placement.  Oh and coffee beans along the front is a FBD digi Coffee Beans.  The brown twine can also be purchased at FBD:  Mocha Latte Brown Twine.
turn the wheel to reveal two more coffee theme images from FBD:  Coffee Bag and Warm and Cozy Latte.
another turn to reveal a FBD Coffee & Pie.  I cut the cup and pie apart so the pie could be in front of the cup to fit in the window.  This was a freebie image offered last fall.
One last turn to reveal "I love you coffee" which are stamps from Joy's stamps.  The little coffee beans are A Muse Studio.

Here is the inside.  I hand wrote it over and over "need it want it gotta have it", then I stamped a FBD rubber stamp saying "I have OCD......" along with more A|S coffee beans.  Then I took coffee from my actual coffee cup and stamped the bottom of my cup onto the paper as well as flicked drops of it onto the paper for a nice coffee mess. ;)

Go on over to the FBD challenge blog and check out the funny cards the DT made and join in on the fun!  :)

Skydiving!! (no, not really...)

It's all there in the journaling (click to enlarge).... my kid is a silly kid, but he makes me laugh.  I created this LO using stuff from my last and current Burlap and Buttercups scrapbook kits.  The parachute I found online after a quick google. I didn't want to cut into the photo (to have the strings come from his arms, so I thought a little hole punch would work and still be cute.  I'm happy with the end results. ;)
