I thought Vanilla Cupcake Cutie would be extra cute next her sweet friend Cherry Cupcake  Cutie who was released in January.  Heather posted a card recently using Cherry Cupcake Cutie with non traditional hair color and I  just loved it- so much so I colored both the cupcake cuties with fun colors.

I used the newly released rubber stamp by Fresh Brewed Designs called Skinny Minnie is sweet. (other stamps by SU!).  I paper pieced her shirt. :)  This looks just like me in the morning..... NOT!  but wouldn't that be a wonderful way to start the day:  cheerful with a cupcake, coffee, and listening to the birds sing on a warm spring day?  

 

 Inside I used Fresh Brewed Designs rubber stamp sentiments:  Hello, Smile, and Just dropping by...  (thinking of you is A|S)

This card is for my dad!  Today he turns 60!  My maiden name is Fox, so fox theme things are very popular in my family. ;)  When I saw this cute fox stamp in the SU! catty, I *had* to buy it! 

 

Although I don't call my dad foxy, so I masked off that part of the stamp. lol!  I colored the image with copics and chalk.  happy birthday stamp (and die to go with it) SU! as well as the tree bark embossing plate which I used core'dinations cardstock and lightly sanded it- makes for perfect bark.  It does, however, really weakens it. Hopefully it didn't tear apart when he pulled it out of the envelope.....

QKR Stampede and CAS-ual Fridays

Two more challenge cards to link up.  First one is for QKR Stampede #28:  use three of something.  I used 3 wood buttons (SU!); rooster stamp and happy father's day stamp are both SU! as is the honeycomb (or in this case, chicken wire) background. Stitched stamp is A|S.

 

 Next card is for CAS-ual Fridays Challenge 92: wallpaper.  stamp your own background paper.  I used a SU! flower stamp and repeatedly stamped it on white paper and then colored them in with copic markers.  Little thank you stamp is also SU!  my stamped paper is layered onto core'dinations black magic paper which I tore and sanded the edges which match my coloring.  I just love that paper. :)

 I was really lucky to work with core'dinations cardstock along with the Sand it set...  I absolutely LOVE their cardstock and don't think I can now live without it in my crafty space.  I love the texture and colors/styles, and all the fun things you can do with it to give projects that perfect touch.

 

Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock is unique. Every sheet of acid free, 80 lb. cardstock has a color core which "core'dinates" with the surface color... no white core! You can choose to keep the core color hidden or add your own creative touch by sanding, tearing, scoring, or embossing. Here's the past Cupcake Inspiration photo I chose:  such fun Halloween cupcakes with a spooky display.  Awesome.

Here's the card I created using all core'dinations cardstocks.  The Black Magic is especially cool.  It's black on one side and colored on the back, which you can see if you sand it, tear it, emboss/sand it, which I did all of those things here. :)  The spider and ghost stamp are stamped onto their glitter silk cardstock (6x6 pack of 10 colors) *spider was stamped on the back and cut out since it's a pure black image*, which is hard to see the glitter in the photo, but in person is a fun addition.  I used papers from their core essentials collections in bright (6x6 pack of 10 colors), and my actual card is from their core cards dark card set which is an A2 size with envelopes.  While creating this card, I used their Sand it Set, which made sanding so easy and clean up easy.
